discussion on national education policy
“National Education Policy and its insight” a discussion was held during three days General Conference of AAWAA on 8th November 2021 at Akhara, Kasipathar, Lakhimpur. Delegates from 11districts of Assam participated in the discussion on Education Situation in the tea gardens of Assam and implementation of RTE compliances in the tea garden schools. The NEP was discussed and critically reviewed for the improvement of education scenario in the tea gardens. PBET has been working on Education in the tea gardens since 2012 and for past three years the organisation has been advocating on quality education with special on girl’s education in the tea gardens of Assam in close association with with AAWAA. Bondita Archarya, Education Champion of Malala Fund and Director talked about NEP, RTE implementation, impact of school merger, budget expenditure on education in the tea gardens of Assam.
Birsu Guwala, CRC of Joyhing cluster, lakhimpur was sharing his experience on quality education and budgetary provisions for schools. Dulami Hereh, Principal of DIET Dhemaji was also present as resource person in the discussion on Education on 7th November 2021. The meeting resolved to develop a Special Education Policy for Adivasi’s Assam.
